Diamond tool sharpening and relapping
A single crystal diamond tool is not thrown away when it gets dull. The worn edge is relapped and the tool cuts like new, at a fraction of the price of a new one. Bulunmaz resharpens natural diamond and MCD tools in its own workshop, including tools from other makers.

How it works
- You tell us what you have. We send the shipping address and instructions.
- We inspect the tool under the microscope and tell you what it needs. This first evaluation is free.
- You approve the work and the price.
- We relap the edge, inspect it again and return the tool with an inspection note.

| What if the diamond is chipped or broken? | We tell you before doing anything. Small chips can be lapped out; a broken diamond can be replaced with a new one on the same shank. |
Who we supply
Bulunmaz resharpens single crystal diamond tools: natural diamond, MCD and CVD. We do not resharpen PCD, carbide or grinding tools.
Common questions
- How do I know my tool needs resharpening?
- The surface loses its shine, fine lines appear, or burrs form at the edge.
- Is resharpening worth it?
- Yes for almost every single crystal tool. It costs about 5% to 20% of the price of a new tool, depending on the tool and the diamond size.
- Will the tool be the same afterwards?
- The edge shape is restored to the original. The diamond becomes slightly smaller each time, which is why the number of resharpenings is limited.
